FPV EXPLAINED
FPV has become popular since around 2015. FPV stands for First Person View, meaning that the user gets the perspective view of the model – predominantly when flying a model aeroplane or QuadCopter, this fools the brain to think that you are actually sat in the vehicle – an amazing experience!
A limiting aspect of this is that because it involves flight it is only suitable for older children and adults and takes a lot of practice which is both time consuming and expensive. We wanted younger children and anyone without the practice and knowledge to fly to be able to experience this amazing technology. By utilizing FPV technology, custom developed software and hardware we have produced Formula FPV.
WHAT EXACTLY IS FORMULA FPV
.Our custom, one of a kind design, involves 4 racing seats, each seat has a set of racing pedals and steering wheel. These wirelessly control 4 radio controlled cars in the same manor as a normal car. Each RC car has a camera mounted in the windscreen and wirelessly transmits the video back to the user who is also wearing video goggles enabling the player to have the view out of the windscreen.
The system comes with a track and a lap system, enabling competitive gaming such “highest laps per race”. This race information is overlaid in the goggles in text form, so each racer has “head up” information about the race, such as time remaining, the number of laps achieved, and crucially how many laps the other players have completed thus who is currently in the lead.
The system is delivered as a hired, managed package for events, predominantly birthday parties.
